Oct 25 Danielle Petit's Cosy and Beautifully Decorated Home

Today's home tour is with the very lovely Danielle Le Petit @daniellellp who you can follow on Instagram here . A very popular lady on Instagram, her home is filled with gorgeous wallpaper, vintage finds and items she has carefully curated over a period of time, always chosen with her heart and with a budget in mind. This is a real, comfortable and yet beautiful home, which shows you what you can achieve on a budget, being careful over what you curate and using soft grey as a lovely background in which to showcase those items.

I live in Surrey. I'm married with 3 grown up children and our home is a four bedroomed Victorian house. My job in the NHS is working with new-born babies but my love of interiors has always been with me since we got our first place.

If I have a 'style' it would be eclectic with a touch of boho thrown in, I think. I love and admire the pared back aesthetic in other people's homes, I just can't live that way myself! I buy things with my heart, never my head and always on a tight budget. It has meant a lot of compromise over the years, I rarely can afford the things I desire so I have to go off and source a cheaper version but one I can live with, not just having a 'replica' for the sake of it. This does make me quite proud, it means more somehow, I think when you can pull a look together on a shoestring, it's a challenge but possible. Also, incredibly frustrating at times!

Most of the pieces in my home I have collected over a 20 year period, from antique shops, charity shops, Ikea, Habitatand Ebay, and more recently Etsy, as well as lots of pieces that my husband has made from wood that we've picked up from a salvage or wood yard. I have gained huge inspiration from the interior Instagram community in the last year as well as my much-loved interior magazines and Pinterest.
