Fall Coziness & Creative Finds: Weekly Wrap-Up #2

Welcome back to another weekly wrap-up here “Girl In Home”, where we celebrate the joys of creativity, homemaking, and connection.

It’s been a cozy week in our little corner of the world.

The leaves outside are turning golden, and the air has that crisp reminder to slow down.

This season always feels like a gentle nudge to pause, appreciate the little things, and make time for creativity and comfort at home.

As the days get shorter and the evenings stretch out, I’ve been finding inspiration in simple moments- quiet mornings with coffee, new creative finds, and the excitement of what’s just around the corner.

Let’s take a look at what made this week so special.

Creative Finds of the Week

This week has been a blend of mystery, creativity, and excitement- proof that fall can hold both calm and adventure.

1. The Adult Advent Calendar (With a Twist!)

I stumbled upon a unique advent calendar that turns December into a daily puzzle adventure!

Each day, you open a new clue that leads you to the next piece of the mystery.

It’s such a refreshing twist on the traditional calendar, and I love that it encourages curiosity and mindfulness rather than just another chocolate bite.

Perfect for moms who crave a moment of quiet fun amid the holiday chaos!

2. “K-Pop Demon Hunters” — A Movie My Daughter Can’t Stop Talking About

Okay, this one’s pure excitement. The new K-Pop Demon Hunters movie is coming to theaters soon, and my daughter is counting down the days! The mix of music, courage, and friendship feels like the perfect modern fairytale — and I secretly can’t wait to see it too. Sometimes creativity isn’t just in what we make, but in the stories we share and the moments we look forward to together.

Craft Corner Inspiration

This week’s project: Cinnamon Stick & Dried Orange Garland

If you’ve ever dreamed of your home smelling like a blend of nostalgia and autumn bliss, this project delivers.

Supplies Needed:

  • Dried orange slices
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Twine or jute string
  • Hot glue gun (optional)
  • Small wooden beads or greenery (for accents)

Steps:

  1. Thread your twine through a needle or simply tie knots around each item.
  2. Alternate between oranges, cinnamon sticks, and beads for a balanced look.
  3. Hang it over a mantel, doorway, or window — and bask in the cozy scent that lingers all season.

Craft tip: Add a little eucalyptus or faux pine for a winter transition piece that lasts through December!

Community Connections

One of the things I love most about creativity is how it quietly brings people together.

Even the simplest handmade project can become a way to share care and kindness — a small reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated.

Lately, I’ve been imagining what our creative community might look like as it grows — full of cozy fall projects, thoughtful ideas, and the joy of making something just because it feels good.

I keep picturing a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread wrapped in kraft paper and tied with twine, dropped off at a neighbor’s door.

It’s such a lovely symbol of what crafting and homemaking can be: heartwarming, simple, and full of intention.

If you try one of the projects or ideas I share here, I’d love to see it!

Tag your creations on Instagram with #girlinhomeCreations or send a message my way to share what you’ve made.

Together, we can build this creative corner into something truly special — one cozy project at a time.

Cozy Reflections

This week reminded me that slowing down is not the same as stopping.

When we choose to pause — to breathe, craft, sip tea, or watch a movie with our kids — we’re not wasting time.

We’re savoring it.

Fall Coziness fall

The beauty of fall isn’t in how much we accomplish but in how present we are for the tiny, magical moments that fill our homes and hearts.

If you enjoy small moments of reflection, I also share a “One Word(less) Wednesday” post each week over on my other blog, Unscripted Mom Life.

Each week, I choose a single word — something simple yet meaningful — and pair it with an image that captures its mood.

Then, I spend about five minutes writing my thoughts on what that word means in my life as a stay-at-home mom.

It’s become a grounding ritual that reminds me how much insight can come from slowing down and focusing on just one thing at a time.

What’s Coming Next Week

Next week, I’ll be sharing “Finding Joy in the Everyday: Simple Ways to Stay Creative as a Busy Mom.”

It’s a gentle reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to be big or time-consuming — sometimes it’s as simple as trying a new recipe, rearranging a shelf, or taking a quiet moment for yourself.

I’ll also have a few easy, low-prep craft ideas that fit right into a busy week without adding stress.

Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!

A Thought to Carry With You

As we wrap up this week, I’m reminded that creativity doesn’t always have to be loud or grand.

Sometimes it’s found in the quietest moments—a freshly baked loaf of bread, a handmade garland, or a shared laugh over a movie night.

Every bit of it matters.

This season invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and find joy in the process, not just the outcome.

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day (or a fall one!) listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” John Lubbock

So take that time for yourself, however small it may be.

Light the candle, make something with your hands, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with your family.

You’re doing more than enough.
